The first of four titles by Katie Paterson, which leads you to join Rachel and Gareth as they discover that they are no ordinary twins, but have a strange heritage that takes them into an ancient world of sorcery and mysticism.
‘The Jewels of Valonia’ follows 12-year-old twins, Gareth and Rachel, as they embark on a mystical adventure travelling to the remote village of Valonia, where everything is far from what it seems.
An encounter with a stranger leads them into a world of sorcery and danger. As they pass through the realms of time, the twins come to understand that their destiny lies within powers that they have yet to understand and control.
About the Author
Katie Paterson, of Scottish descent, has lived most of her life in the Midlands.
As a mother of two grown-up children herself, she has an ambition to help keep reading ‘alive’ for children, and was inspired to write ‘The Chronicles of Valonia’ by a lifelong fascination with the Arthurian period and legends.
